Deep in the forest, lived a small town named Hillsville. The people lived a simple life and stuck to a daily routine. Each day the people would either go hunting, farm or build things.

The leader of this village was a king named King James. King James was a very strong ruler but a very bad listener.

One day, the farmers were hard at work. One worker, Dirk, noticed something wrong. He heard a loud growl coming from far away. He ignored it and kept working.

Hmm.

Over the next few weeks, Dirk noticed more things. He heard the growls getting closer and food going missing.

Where's the food?

Crops started getting ruined and seeds were getting eaten.

Who could be doing this? he wondered.

Dirk began reporting his thoughts but King James refused to listen.

Help!

"King James! Our crops have been eaten and I have been hearing growls coming from in the forest!" said Dirk concernedly.

"Nonsense there are no animals in the forest, it is all your imagination" said the King.

Grrrrrr.

What is that?!

Dirk shrugged and returned to his fields to plant seeds. The next few days, there were louder sounds, other villagers started to notice them too!

Rumble, rumble, shake, crack

A couple days later, all of the farmers are working in their fields. Suddenly, the ground began to shake!

ROOOOOAAAAAR!!!!!!

Out of the forest, stomped a huge bear! The bear was really hungry and let out a loud roar.

The bear began eating all the seeds and crops! Someone had to stop him!
