On Friday the 23rd of June 9P and 10H went on a trip to the museum. We went with Mr Sherwood, Mrs Zhao, Mrs Son and Mrs Boomen. We walked to sturges road train station. On the way we were listening to music.
It took us about 45 minutes in the train. when we got off the train we had to walk to the museum. we arrived at 10:30am we had to put our bags away and take our shoes off and we sat on the floor two teachers came to us and introduced themselves to us.
They also us some rules that we needed to follow and they were just like school rules. We went upstairs with the teachers to the Whare they told us a story. We also learned the names of the ta Mokos by doing an activity. Ta Mokos is the Maori name for tattoo
They they gave us a little piece of clay to make a pot. We got tattoos done on our faces but it wasn't real tattoo it was ink.
Boys were allowed to get ta moko on their whole face but for girls, they could only get it on their chin.
