Dear Readers, If you do not like the feeling of danger and suspense or near death accidents, I advise you to close this book and read something more comforting. For these decisions you are about to make are going to affect if you survive these terrible mishaps. This is the first book in the series, Taken. Get ready. Be prepared. It's about to get bad.
CHAPTER 1: Your Identity Page 4
Your name is Anya Lee Robertson. You are a 12 year old female. You live on 316 Delica Alley in Burbank, California.
One night you were on a stroll at 7:30 pm. The sunset was appearing over the skyline and you were heading home. You were almost there. You heard footsteps behind you and you stopped. You wheeled around and scaredly looked around. No one was there. You turned back around and started to briskly walk down the road faster. The footsteps proceeded. You accidentally drop your phone on the pavement and you stop in the road. The footsteps get closer. If you choose to turn back and get your phone, go to page 6. If you choose to keep running, go to page 8.
Page 6 You choose to turn around and grab your phone. You would probably have enough time to get away. Right? You turn around and crouch down. You quickly get your phone but before you could stand back up, a hand grabs your wrist. The person puts their hand over your mouth. You try to scream. No use. The man pulls you over to a black van and throws you in the trunk. Everything goes black....When you come to, you are sitting in a empty abandoned garage strapped to a chair. The next morning your mother turns on the TV. "A girl by the name of Anya L. Robertson has been murdered on the night of April 25, 2080. She was killed by a man who has seemed to disappear in the bustling city of California. Have you seen this man? That's all for today." said the news reporter. You were never seen again. Return to Page 4.
Page 8 You decide to keep walking. If this is a life or death situation, you could definitely buy a new phone. You reach your house and burst inside and lock the door behind you. "MOM!!!!" you scream. No answer. No one's home. You hear a loud knock at the door. You sprint up the stairs into your parents bedroom. Where to hide??!
If you choose to hide under your parent's bed, go to page 14.
If you choose to go into your room and hide in your closet, go to page 10.
Page 10 You run to your room as the knocks get louder and louder. You get into your closet and cover yourself in clothes and slip into the laundry basket just as your front door is busted down. SLAM! You hear footsteps in the kitchen followed by cabinets slamming and drawers closing firmly. You hear the silverware drawer open. Something was removed. You hear the footsteps come up the stairs and down the hall. The man goes into your parents room first. If you would of hid there he would of easily found you. Now he walks to your room. The man opens your closet doors. Time stops. You hold your breath. One second now turns into 10. "Where are you," the man says gruffly. "WHERE ARE YOU?!" The man leaves your house. What do you do?!
To call the police, go to page 12.
To run outside, go to page 16.
Page 12 You run to your house phone. You dial 911 and call it. Hmmm. Static. You look down and see the wire is cut. He used a knife to cut it. Suddenly the man walks up to you from behind. You were never seen again. Return to page 4.
Page 14 Sure, hiding in your closet would be a OK hiding spot but you must be as unnoticeable as possible. You hide under your parent's bed and you lay on your stomach flat out. You hear the front door being busted down. Footsteps lead to the kitchen and you hear cupboards slam shut and drawers open and close firmly. You hear the silverware drawer open. Something is removed. The footsteps come up the stairs and into the hall. AND INTO YOUR PARENT'S ROOM!!! The footsteps stop at your parents bed you see the man is looking around. Suddenly he looks under the bed. You scream and get out of the room. You run outside and the man is coming down the stairs now. Think fast!!
To run to a neighbor's house, go to page 18.
To call the police, go to page 12.
Page 16 You decide to wait a while and then go outside. You have to get somewhere safe. You know the man has probably gone to the backyard to look for you. You get out from the bed and look through a window and sure enough, he's out back. He goes out unto the street behind your house and walks away. You run outside. Suddenly your Mom's car pulls up. You tell her all about it. She calls the police on her phone and drops you off at your Aunt's house. You never saw the man again.
Congrats. You survived. But maybe the wrong way? To start over, go to Page 4.
