My grandma was born on June 9, 1953 in Garrett, Indiana. She had one older brother. Later, the family grew to include a set of twin brothers, another brother and a sister.

She lived in Indiana until she was 5 years old and then her parents moved to the windy city; Chicago, Illinois. She lived there for most of her life.

Having recently moved from Puerto Rico, my grandmothers parents barely knew English.

My grandmother taught herself to speak the language by listening to radio programs and reading books.

When she was 16 she found her passion in ministry and began her work as a missionary. She traveled all through out the United States with her father to help those in need while spreading the gospel.

At age 19, she married my grandfather and soon after they began a church in Chicago, Illinois.

The church began gathering in a home but soon grew...

As their ministry grew, they were able to travel to many different countries to minister and provide aide. They traveled all throughout Central and South America going to some of the poorest countries in the world.
