1781- Articles of Confederation Approved by Last of the 13 States
All 13 of the states were required to vote to approve of the Articles of Confederation. It took years for all of the states to approve because they weren't very eager to give up the claims they had on western lands. Maryland was the final state to approve.

Farmers were left unable to pay taxes due to an economic depression. Governments sold farm land to pay back the taxes, which obviously led to protests. A former war captain named Daniel Shays led 1,000 other farmers in a rebellion, openly expressing their opinion on the matter.
1787- Constitutional Convention Creates New Plan of Government
Flaws in the Articles of Confederation became apparent to everyone, so the states met together to revise the laws. The new article was eventually called the Constitution, which compromised the ideas of the states to hopefully please everyone.
