I am having some friends over! I need your help to make some chocolate chip cookies for them. First we need to get out the ingredients.

Here's what you'll need

1 cup butter (two sticks), softened

1 cup white sugar

1 cup brown sugar

2 eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

3 cups all-pupose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

2 teaspoons hot water

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 cups chocolate chips

Step one:

First have an adult help you preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Also ask an adult to help you measure out all the ingredients correctly if needed.

Step two:

Get out a big bowl.

Put the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar into the bowl.

Use a spoon to cream together the butter and sugar, until it is smooth.

Step Three:

Crack the eggs, one at a time, into the bowl (make sure not to get any egg shells in the bowl).

Use a whisk to blend the eggs into the mix.

Then stir in the vanilla.

Step Four:

In a seperate small bowl, pour in the baking soda.

Pour the hot water into the bowl and stir until the baking soda dissolves and you are left with a liquid.
