introduction:have you ever wondered what it's like before the revolutionary war? back before the 13 colonies became 13 states? I don't but this is the book for colonial era nerds & geeks like you're host this cat drawn in ms paint whom sadly cannot join us so I'll just translate what they're saying.Their name is Little "Boston" Rock named after both the capital of Arkansas and after new England's port city making them a city kitty and as well as their fur it's fluffy and beautiful and if you thought their new England obsession ended there it's species is Maine coon an intelligent and behemoth cat capable of opening doors (2nd most intelligent cat breed in the world)

let's first cover the new England colonies
new Hampshire,
Massachusetts,
Connecticut,
and Rhode island,
these climates are cold and harsh and unforgiving you can't even grow more than you're stomach could hold and that just brought up more need to trade but they had nothing to do so,so they whaled and fished to get whale skin and other products while the others fished for food and sometimes to sell and Boston became a merchant city selling things to England,And
the new England colonies sold dry fish and whale products.
their mid Atlantic imports were grains and that's about it.
their southern imports were tobacco, indigo and rice.
religious groups were separatists and puritans as their geography was rocky soil jagged coastline and their summers were mild as their winters are harsh.
and town meetings.
fun fact: despite being the 'New England' colonies they wanted almost nothing to do with England.
now let's talk about Mid Atlantic colonies these people fished as well but they could stockpile grains unlike the new England colonies and after the revolutionary war they built factories upon factories
and had minimal living problems
their civic life consisted of Market towns and lived geographically near Appalachian highlands with forests and fertile soil.
new England imported whale products
Southern imported tobacco indigo and rice
fun fact: the people that claim to make your oatmeal got a land grant in Pennsylvania.
the SOUTHERN colonies this is not hard to explain.
their economy ran on pro slavery plantations and tobacco was their cash crop. However they also grew indigo, rice and cotton they just didn't care too much about cotton at the time being but indigo was an indigo dye rice is a seed made of sugar and held together by starch tobacco is an extremely addictive drug (some people don't notice they're addicted) that you smoke and cotton is excess fiber from the cotton plant. religion was Anglican but they didn't care much about religion and cared more about money in that hot hot climate of the fertile south.
fun fact:Georgia was meant for debtors but people who were actually willing to risk their lives for money came all the way to Georgia
and Jamestown one of our most taught colonial towns belonged to the most shameless colonies who wouldn't bat an eye for the people they were treating as less then human
