CHAPTER 1
One sunny morning Molly went over to Sarah's house to get some breakfast. When she got there she saw Sarah riding Lightning around the pen. Molly rode her horse Mia so she ran up next to Sarah and started running with her.
"Hey, Sarah."
"Hey, Molly. How are you?"
"Good. You?"
"Amazing! I just found out that I can get a new saddle for Lightning!"
"Cool!"
The girls were riding around and having a good time when all of a sudden Sarah's Aunt Natalie yelled, "GIRLS COME IN FOR BREAKFAST!"
They were so hungry that they ran as fast as they could to the house. When they got inside the girls were so amazed! On the table there was bacon, eggs, and french toast. There was also strawberries, blueberries, bananas, and peaches. The girls ate so much that they couldn't get up.
"That was so good!" Molly said with her hands on her stomach.
"Yeah, really good," Sarah said nodding.
"That's good," said Aunt Natalie.
While the girls were thanking Aunt Natalie for the meal, Sarah's
mom Mrs. Julia came in and asked, "So are you girls doing anything today?"
"We are going to go ride in the woods. Is that OK mom?" Sarah asked.
"That sounds fun. Of course, that's fine. Just be careful and stay on the path. OK?"
"OK." Both of the girls said.
As the girls were walking they saw Mia and Lightning doing laps around the pen. The horses looked like they were having fun so the girls went to the barn and groomed the other horses. When they were done the girls decided they would groom their own horses. While they were grooming Lightning
and Mia the delivery man came and gave Sarah a package.
"I wasn't expecting a package," said Sarah in a confused way.
"Maybe it's your new saddle?" Molly said while brushing Mia.
"Maybe, but I just ordered it this morning. Oh well."
When Sarah opened it, to her surprise it was her new saddle. She was so happy, but she knew that she had to save that for the parade and since the girls were going in the woods she put it in her room. When the girls were done with that they saddled up their horses, packed some lunch and started on their adventure.
CHAPTER 2
The girls were going to trot along the path, but they wanted to go faster. So they decided that they should have a race from where they were standing to the river. Lightning was running so fast that she was kicking up the dirt. Mia was going fast too, but not as fast as Lightning. You would think that Sarah and Lightning would have won, but think again!! Molly and Mia pulled it out in the end. When the girls were done with the race they stopped by the river and let the horses have a drink. The girls were petting their horses and telling them they were the best horses in the world. When
they were done the girls walked their horses to a nice shady tree to eat their lunch under.
"Lunch is so GOOD!!" said Molly holding her stomach in amazement.
"Yeah really good," said Sarah also holding her stomach in amazement.
The girls were getting ready to go back to Sarah's. They decided that they would take the long way home to really take in the breathtaking scenery. The sun was beaming through the leaves and it made the woods look like it had a disco ball. It was the most beautiful thing they had ever seen. The girls were walking their horses on the path so that Mia
and Lightning could get a break from the girls on their backs. While the girls were walking they saw the most beautiful purple flowers, but it was off the path. They knew that they weren't allowed, but the flowers would be the perfect thing to give to their parents. So they went off the path to get them.
CHAPTER 3
While the girls were picking the flowers there was something ruffling around in the bush behind them. The girls were scared that it was a lion so they started to walk away slowly. Then they saw another horse that looked like Molly's little sister's horse. Her little sister's name is Ella and she loved to follow Molly around.
"Come out Ella. I know you're there. I'm not mad at you, I just NEED you to come out," said Molly with her hands on her hips.
"Fine, you caught me. How could you not hear me following you? I was so loud," said Ella shyly.
"Why are you following us?" asked Molly petting Mia.
"I wanted to see where you were going. You're always out and I never get to see you anymore and I wanted to spend some time with you and Sarah."
"Oh," said Molly, now her face was turning red. "I had no idea you felt that way. Well, you can hang out with us. Right, Sarah?"
"Yeah!! We would love for you to join us!"
After the girls were done picking flowers they realized that they had lost the path! Ella was smart and left a trail of paper, but the wind must have blown them away and they couldn't find the path.
Now they were lost! Then all of a sudden, they saw a wolf in the distance and then another. The girls had no idea what to do. So they just stood there.

CHAPTER 4
They were standing there for about 15-20 minutes when the wolves finally walked away, which gave the girls the perfect opportunity to get on their horses and ride away. They had to go slow so that the wolves didn't hear them. The girls still had no idea where the path was, but luckily for them, it wasn't even close to sunset yet so the girls had some time to figure out where the trail was. While the girls were riding they heard footsteps behind them. They realized that it wasn't footsteps it was wolf steps. Sarah's mom told them before they left that if wolves are hunting you spread your
arms out wide and make loud sounds. She said you could either scream or yell. Either one was fine.
"OK," said Sarah perfectly still, "We need to scare the wolves away. I remember what to do. Do you guys?"
"Yeah," said Molly and Ella.
"OK. Then let's scare them away," Sarah said with confidence.
Sarah and Molly spread their arms out wide while Ella screamed as loud as she could. The horses knew what to do as well, so Lightning and Mia made noise while Ella's horse Spirit was standing on her hind legs. The girls didn't know that their horses were doing that. Since the girls and their horses were being loud, the wolves ran
away so fast one of them fell on it's face. Another completely tumbled down the hill and into a tree. The girls were too happy to feel bad that the wolf just hit it's head on the tree trunk. It looks like the wolves are gone.
The horses wanted to run around but they were tied to the tree. They pulled harder and harder to get loose, but it didn't work. Lightning didn't give up though. She was determined to get free and run around. In a good 2 minutes, she was free. Sarah turned around because when Lightning got loose, the tree branch fell off the tree and onto the ground with a thud. Mia and Spirit wanted to get loose too so they pulled until they were free.
The branches they were tied to didn't fall, but Sarah saw them and retied them to a different tree. A few minutes later Molly and Ella looked back and saw that Sarah was holding all three horses. The horses wanted to run free so the girls saddled up and raced around. The girls were going faster than they have ever gone before.
"WOW! I guess the horses really wanted to run around!" Ella yelled loudly so Molly and Sarah could hear.
"Yeah! They really needed to stretch their legs!" Molly yelled.
After about a good 45 minutes the horses were pooped. Luckily for them, there was a stream right up ahead. The girls and the horses all drank some water.
Spirit used to be a wild horse so she knew if the water was good to drink or not. Then Sarah saw something. That something was in the shape of a wolf! How in the world did the wolves find them?
"GUYS THE WOLVES ARE BACK!! AND RIGHT THERE!!"
Sarah yelled frightened.
"How did they find us? We went in completely different directions!" Ella yelled.
"Well, the wolves could have followed our scent," Molly said with her hands on her hips.
"True. We need to get away from them again," Sarah said.
So the girls had a strong feeling that they wouldn't be able to scare them away again. They had no idea what to do. The only thing that they could do was to run away. So they gathered their stuff, hopped on their horses and ran away as fast as they could and didn't look back.
CHAPTER 5
The girls didn't look back, but they had to see if the wolves were following them. To their surprise, the wolves weren't there. Where did the wolves go? Did they give up? Even though the wolves weren't following them they still went fast.
"Ummm... guys, the wolves... are... RIGHT NEXT TO US!!" Molly yelled with a fright.
"They are to the side of us. They might try to cut us off." Sarah said.
"I have an idea! We should turn around and go back to the river. When we get there run through it. The water is deep,
but the horses will be able to jump over it," said Ella watching the wolves.
Sarah and Molly nodded their heads. While they were running Sarah turned around first then Ella and Molly followed. The wolves followed. The wolves were now behind them and that gave the girls time to jump over the river. Molly jumped then Ella and Sarah was last. Some of the wolves tried to jump over, but fell in anyway. Others tried to walk through, but realized that it was too deep and fell in. There were now only 3 wolves left. They were a lot smarter and they were watching the girls instead of going after them like the other wolves did.
The girls were frozen in place. They didn't want to run away cause that could startle the wolves and they still could have tried to jump. Ella, Molly, and Sarah taught their horses how to walk backwards, but the wolves were watching them like a hawk. Molly tried to move to see if the wolves would notice, but they didn't. So she kept on going until she was out of the wolves sight line. Then Sarah went and Ella followed. The girls ran away as fast as they could to get away from the wolves.
"We got away from the wolves!" yelled Molly in amazement
"Yay!!" Sarah and Ella yelled.
"Now we just have to find out how to get back to my house." said Sarah.
"But how?" said Ella shrugging her shoulders.
"I KNOW!! I KNOW!!" Ella yelled. "We could use the GPS on my phone!"
"Do you have any bars?" Molly asked.
"Yeah I have full bars. I will see if it will work," said Ella holding her phone in the air.
"Is it working?" Molly asked.
"Sarah, what is your address?" Ella asked still looking at her phone.
"4121 Jasmine Rd."
"Thanks."
Sarah and Molly were watching out for the wolves while Spirit, Lightning, and Mia surrounded the girls to protect them from any type of harm. Ella was doing the best that she could to get the GPS to work, but sadly it wasn't. Ella was so upset. She let down Sarah, Molly, and most importantly she let down herself. She didn't want to let them know that the GPS wasn't working. She was afraid that they would be mad at her because they just wasted all that time when they could have been figuring out another way back home.
