Liked election day a lot

But the democrats

Who lived just left

the republicans did not

The democrats hate election day 2000, and the whole election season

Now  please don’t ask why. No one quite knows the reason

It could be that Bush won florida by 300 votes

It could be, the affair that Monica Lewinsky wrote

But I think that the most likely reason of all

Could be Al Gore’s loss due to the butterfly ballot

But

Whatever the reason

The win or the lose

He stood there on Election eve, who would america choose?

Staring down from VP seat, with a sour grinchy frown

At the Gov. of Texas George W Bush

For this election everyone knew who'd they crown

“And the republicans are voting!” Gore snarled with a sneer

“Tomorrow is Election Day! It’s practically here!”

Then he growled, the Vice President was nervously humming

“I MUST find some way to stop Bush, he's too cunning”

All the american girls and boys

Would wake bright and early. To rush the polls

And then they’d vote on the most important issues of all: Retirement, taxes and education

But Gore knew Indiana he hated the most - 12 Republican electoral votes

Then the Americans, young and old would sit down at their tv

And they’d watch their votes indeed

they’d hear the states ring their votes

America declared Gore most popular among most

Which was something Bush couldn’t stand in the least

And THEN

They’d do something

He liked the least of all!

The 54.2% who voted,

Would see the electoral count and hear Bush 271 Gore 266

Then Gore got an idea

A recount indeed

Is most needed, he'd plead

“I know just what to do” Gore laughed from his throat

A quick supreme court case to fix the vote

He searched and searched and found out

Pebble County was missing some clout
