This book is geared toward children, providing them with an introduction to the stations of the cross. The Story of the Cross illustrates a series of events leading up to Jesus` crucifixion and resurrection. The informational story provides young readers ages 10 and older to reflect upon Jesus accompanied with illustrations and prayers. Each illustration is paired with a simple explanation. This will guide the reader through out the stations of the cross.

FIRST STATION Jesus is Condemned to Death
Jesus stands before Pontius Pilate. Jesus was accused of many crimes that he did not do.The judge tells him that he will die. Jesus did not defend himself, he knew he had to die for our sins.

SECOND STATION Jesus carries His Cross
We adore you, O Christ and we praise you. Because by your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world
Soldiers place a heavy cross on Jesus` shoulders. Jesus carried the heavy cross without complaining once.

THIRD STATION Jesus falls for the Third Time
We adore you, O Christ and we praise you. Because by your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world
Jesus falls for the third time, he was badly wounded and in pain. Jesus kept on going in pain for us.

FOURTH STATION Jesus meets his Mother
We adore you, O Christ and we praise you. Because by your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world
Jesus knew his mother was unhappy to see him suffering so much. Mary loves Jesus so much that it brought joy to Jesus that his mom came to see him.

FIFTH STATION Simon of Cyrene helps Jesus
We adore you, O Christ and we praise you. Because by your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world
Simon did not come to help Jesus, but to see what was happening. The soldiers ordered Simon to help Jesus carry the cross, because he was struggling.

SIXTH STATION Veronica wipes Jesus` Face
We adore you, O Christ and we praise you. Because by your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world
A kind woman named Veronica, took a great risk in wiping Jesus` face because she could of gotten in great trouble by the soldiers.

SEVENTH STATION Jesus falls a Second time
We adore you, O Christ and we praise you. Because by your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world
Jesus falls for the second time because his body was so weak and wounded from carrying the heavy cross. Jesus got back up and kept on going.

EIGHTH STATION Jesus meets the Women of Jerusalem
We adore you, O Christ and we praise you. Because by your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world
In Jerusalem Jesus had believers and nonbelievers. While Jesus was on his journey he came across women crying because they were his faithful followers which could not bare to see him in pain.
