Research: How depression affects all people.

Essential Question: How are teenagers affected by depression.

Working Thesis: Depression causes teens to have low self esteem, self harm and sometimes commit suicide. 

Refined Thesis: Depression can cause teens to self harm, have poor self esteem, and experiment with drugs/ alcohol.

-Millions of people are affected by depression everyday.

-Depression changes how a person acts and operates.

-Depression causes people to lose interest in some of their favorite things.

-Depression can cause teenagers to quit trying in school.

-Depression can cause teenagers to turn to drugs and alcohol.

Service Hours

I did my service hours at Ground Zero Church. I volunteered for their teenage depression outreach programs.

This is related to my research because they try to help teenagers with depression. they see the signs and know ways to help.

Everybody has dealt with depression at some point in life. Ground Zero taught me that the best thing to do for a depressed person is get them the proper help.

Ground Zero does outreach programs to get teenagers the help they need.

While doing my research I learned that teenagers affected by depression dont do things they once found interesting.

-They become sexually active

-They experiment with drugs and alcohol
