One of the functions of present continuous structure is expressing actions which are happening at the moment of speaking.

e.g. The dogs are playing in the park.

Another function of present continuous structure is using it for future actions that we have already arranged or we are certain about them.

e.g. We are flying to the moon tomorrow.
