Finally, the weekend was here! George has been looking forward to this day all week.

He jumped out of bed, got dressed, and ran to the bathroom to brush his teeth.

George has been waiting all week for this day, because today was a very big day. The first day he was allowed to ride his bike with his best friend, Fred.

George has been bugging his mom to go on a bike ride since he took off the training wheels over a month ago. He was so excited to ride his bike with Fred.

I can't wait!

While he was brushing his teeth, he heard his mom call from downstairs.

"Fred is here!" Called mom. George was so excited he ran down the stairs as fast as he could.

Fred's here!

As he ran out the door with Fred, he heard his mom yell "make sure you wear helmet, so you can be safe!"

"I know, I know!", George yelled back.

Safety first!

George and Fred ran to the backyard to grab George's bike. He knew exactly where it was, parked right next to the shed in the backyard. He had put it there last night, so it was ready to go for today. He made sure everything was ready for this big day.

The boys raced across the front yard, and headed to the side of the house. But, when the boys turned the corner, they realized something was missing!

"Where's your bike?" Asked Fred. "I thought you left it here?"

"I did!" cried George.

Where's your bike?!

The boys were puzzled. They couldn't possibly go on a bike ride without both bikes!

George thought for a moment, then he said "Maybe my mom just moved in into the garage".

The boys looked, but the bike wasn't there.

I'm stumped!

They continued to look everywhere. They looked in the backyard and even behind the shed. They even looked all over the house, but there was no luck.
