
Chapter 1
Puritans are standing in front of a prison that has a rose bush.
Chapter 2
Hester is getting publiclay punished with her 3-month old daughter and has to stand on the scaffold for 3 hours because she committed adultery and has to wear the letter A.
Chapter 3
While serving her public punishment, Hester sees her husband that has been gone for 2 years.
Chapter 4
Jailer called for a doctor and Hester's husband comes to the rescue. Chillingworth, Hester's husband promises that he won't tell anyone that they are married and hester won't tell anyone not even him who is the father of her baby.
Chapter 5
hester moves to a small cottage outside of tow and supports her herself and Pearl as a seamstress once she gets out of prison.
Chapter 6
Pearl doesn't get along with other kids because she's a disobedient child, but she is energetic, beautiful and is interested in Hester's letter.
Chapter 7
Heste goes to the governor to plead her case to keep Pearl's custody.
Chapter 8
The governor doubts Hester's ability to be a mother and asks reverend Wilson to test her. Dimmesdale interferes and lets hester keep Pearl.


Chapter 9
Dimmesdale and Chillingworth live in the same house. Chillingworth was a blessing at first to the puritans, now they are suspicious because he's becoming a satanic.
Chapter 10
Chillingworth is obsess with finding the truth about Dimmesdale, so he sneaks into his room at night, while he's sleeping and finds what he's looking for which is the letter A.
Chapter 11
Chillingworth torture Dimmesdale. Dimmesdale is very popular with his congregation because he can sympathize with sinners and suffering.
Chapter 12
Dimmesdale goes to stand on the scaffold and Hester and Pearl join him. he says he won't stand there with them until Judgment Day, then a meteor illuminated the sky as it if to break it and revealed the letter A.
Chapter13
Hester's services to others has earned her respect. Now the A doesn't stand for adultery is stands for able in front of people. Hester has now learned to accept her punishment.
Chapter 14
Hester doesn't want to take off the scarlet letter. Chillingworth allows her to tell Dimmesdale that he's her husband.
