To Mr. Harshman & Sarasota High School

Once there was a little kid who wanted to go through space.
To get there, there were many challenges that he had to face...

His name was Fredrick Pulphus and he was very proud
He had always strived quite hard to stick out in the crowd
This trait for certain benefited him later,
When he went up in the space elevator.
Up to his ship and then to the stars.
To where would he go? To when? How Far?

He looked down to see his home get smaller.
He felt a strong pull, and felt himself grow taller.
He had left the Earth and left its gravity,
Unhooking his seat belt and floating happily.

But about halfway through his journey in space
A difficult problem he soon came to face...
Right in the way was a big black hole!
This was worse than when Santa got stuck at the north pole!
Dragged in closer and closer, and then closer some more...
Getting dragged down to its gravitational core.
A bright flash of light, a tunnel that spins!
He soon came to realize that he was sucked in.

And then...
There he awoke, before looking outside,
Behind the clouds, there he would find.
The Earth, it was there, but truly astray.
As the ocean and sky were a dull, sullen
grey.

As confused as he was, he still had a deadline-
He had to get back to mission control before bedtime.
And then again, he went off into space,
Where his old problem from before, was still left to face...
He saw the black hole...
"Let's rock 'n' roll!"
Got sucked in...
And then...
