To all our pupils...

Share Christmas feeling exchanging Christmas cards

The principal aim is building up knowledge, interest, respect, value other cultures and love for each other through a common interest: Christmas. We love to share Christmas feeling so all the partners will exchange Christmas cards handmade by pupils . We will share with our partners how Christmas is celebrated in our country. We will learn about different Christmas celebrations, typical dishes and recipes, traditional Christmas carols and songs, and information about different countries and cultures around Europe.

This is a very important way to know each other and let us and the kids remember that we are all a big a family even if we live very far from each other. Europe start from the feeling of being a family! Multicultural collaboration gives a real chance to motivate ourselves and our students to learn and work with people from other cultures. A Christmas card written by a pupil from another country will be a special Christmas present for everyone.

TURKISH STUDENTS ARE VERY HAPPY , BECAUSE THEY RECEIVED THEIR CARDS... THANKS EVERYONE..WE SEND OUR LOVE..
We are a small school which is in Niezdów. There are nice teachers and pupils. Everybody knows each other and respects each other. We have got a modern equipment in classrooms, for example interactive boards, monitoring in the corridors and around the school. There are different dance bands in our school.
In the Christmas Eve, we have twelve dishes. We cannot eat meat on that day, so the most often we have red borsch with small pierogi, dried fruit compot, poppy-seed cake, herrings in cream, herrings in oil, herrings in vinegar, fritters, noodles with poppy seed, hand decorated gingerbreads. Before we begin eating, we share with wafer and we wish Merry Christmas. Children look for the first star on the sky. When they see it, they can start opening the presents, which are under the Christmas tree. We sing Christmas carols, for example ‘Silent Night’, ‘Among the night silence’. Every year, we watch ‘Kevin alone in the house’ in TV. We also like watching old Polish comedies. We visit our relatives and we spend time together.

Students in Poland making the Christmas cards

A few days before Christmas, we decorate the Christmas tree. In some houses, there are false trees, bit in some, there are real ones. Traditional Christmas plant is mistletoe, we hang it under the ceiling or above the door. By the Christmas table, there is always one seat left for an unexpected guest. Under the tablecloth, we lay some hay. This is to symbolize the birth of Jesus Christ in the stable. At twelve o’clock at night, a lot of people go to the church for the midnight mass, which is called “pasterka”.

Christmas is spent with family and friends. We sit by the Christmas table, we eat Christmas dinner, we talk, and children play with their new toys. If the weather is nice, after the dinner we go outside, we make snowman or we go for a walk.
On the second day of Christmas, we also visit our family, we spend time together and we relax and chill out.
We are so proud of ourselves!!!
The Christmas cards are ready to send to our partner schools!!!
