Tang and Song Dynasty

1.After the Han Dynasty, they fall into a Period of Disunion, but was eventually united by the Sui Dynasty.

2.The Tang Dynasty overthrows the Sui Dynasty and enters the Golden Age in Classical China.

3.The Song Dynasty takes over the Tang Dynasty and ruled for the next 300 years and entered a period of accomplishment

4.During the Song Dynasty, civil servants had to pass tests based on Confucianism to work for the government.

Classical China Achievements

-Created new farming techniques like underground wells and dragon backbone pumps.

-Increased farmland and production.

-Created porcelain, Woodblock printing, gunpowder and the compass.

-Silk becomes mainly used in clothes and artworks.

-Mongols united under a powerful leader named Genghis Khan and invaded China in 1211.

-Genghis was feared and used brutal tactics and he killed everyone.

-Descendants of Khan continued fighting, took over China, and started the Yuan Dynasty.

-The did not change Chinese culture, welcomed foreign trades, and started public works project.

Ming Dynasty

-Starts when their army defeats the mongols.

-Ming was known for grand buildings, like ships and restoring the great wall.

-Ming worked to eliminate foreign influence.

-Started isolationism, A policy avoiding contact with other nations.
