Once upon a time, there was a macromolecule named Carbohydrate Carl. He started and ended his days the same, constantly hyper and providing energy for everyone.

Carl had a pretty big job. He worked day and night as the main source of energy for all living things. Carb Carl also provided structure for plants with cellulose. Because of his important role, he was always on the go, producing glycogen and starch.

Carl loved hanging out with his friend, Lipid Lily, in his free time. She was great at storing her energy and happened to be nonpolar, which meant she had atoms that shared a pair of electrons inside of her. Lily was an amazing swimmer because when she went in the water, she wouldn't dissolve like Carl would.

Lipid Lily also had her own shop where she gave her customers products she specialized in, such as fats, oils, and waxes to insulate and create membranes for their bodies.
