Prince henry was born on march 4th , 1394.Prince henry had 6 brothers and 4 sisters. Out of all the children he was the third child.Which meant that he was the third oldest.

Early History

Henry was the third child of the Portuguese king John I and responsible for the early development of Portuguese exploration and maritime trade.

During the mid eveil time prince henry the navigator gathered people together at a navigation school to teach them how to navigate.

At this school, people were trained in nagivation , map-making, and science, in order to sail down the west of Africa.

At this time, no Europeans had sailed past the dangerous Cape Bojador and returned alive.
