Marty was from Mars - and, oh, my stars! -

he lived on a diet of candy bars.

He was a typical Martian, a nice shade of green,

who zipped around Mars in his flying machine.

Now, Mars is a nice place, if you really like red,

but Marty liked the looks of a blue place instead.

That place was a planet he had seen through his 'scope.

The planet was Earth, and to go there his hope.

So one night he tiptoed out to his rocket,

with a couple of candy bars in his pocket.

He blasted off Mars with a fine bit of boomery,

and landed on Earth on the Night of Costumery.

What he saw with his own eyes,

he could not believe,

and he wondered out loud,

"Should I stay? Should I leave?"

He saw pirates and princesses,

dragons and kings,

goblins and ghosts,

and all manner of things.

There were monsters and minions,

and these scary guys -

and someone dressed up like a bag of French fries.

Marty hid in the bushes.

These Earthlings were scary.

The whole scene was beginning

to make him feel wary.

They ran through the streets in dangerous packs,

pounding on doors and demanding sweet snacks.

"Trick or treat!" they would bellow,

and the doors would fly open,

and out came the candy,

just like they were hopin'.
