Opening Rite

This begins the Mass with an entrance song welcoming everyone into the church. The most important part of the Mass is the Gathering of the people. Next we start with the greeting.

Opening Rite:

Gloria is one of the most popular songs sung during church. Gloria is sung on the Easter Vigil.

• The opening prayer is the first prayer that we pray at the beginning of the mass. The opening prayer gets the mass started and starts off the worship.

Liturgy of the Word-

There are several readings at the Mass. This includes some readings from the Old Testament and the New Testament.

Next, we have a Gospel. This teaches us about Christ and the Homily. The Homily is a speech made by a priest after the Gospel to teach us about our readings and how they affect our life.

Liturgy of the Eucharist

First, the altar is prepared. The Altar is where the bread and wine are placed on the tabernacle for the priest. Next we present the gifts. " While they were eating, Jesus took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and giving it to his disciples said , " Take and eat; this is my body." (Matthew 26: 26) This quote thru the last supper has Jesus giving his disciples the body of Christ.

The Eucharistic prayer is one of the most important parts of the Liturgy of the Eucharist. This is where a priest acts as Christ, and gathers the bread and wine , offering them to the father. Next we have Consecration. This is where the priest consecrates the bread and wine to make them the body of blood of Christ.

Now we have the Paschal Mystery. This is consists of the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Finally we have the Communal Rite. This consists of the Lord's Prayer and the Sign of Peace.

Dismissal Rite -

Also known as the closing or the commissioning. The Dismissal Rite happens towards the end of the mass where the priest/deacon does the closing prayer and the final blessing and they sing the final song.
