Hello! I'm Jesse Owens and this is a book about my life!
I was born in Oakville, Alabama on September 12, 1913.
I was always very skinny as a child. MY father was a sharecropper but i was too skinny and frail to help him on the fields.

I like to think I was a successful person. I was an American track & field runner. I broken two world records and won four Olympic Gold medals. People used to call me "The buckeye bullet" because I was so fast like a bullet.
This is an old picture of me, my dad, my sister, and my mother. All of my family worked in the field to help with money.

I moved to Cleveland, Ohio when i was eight years old and I wasn't too happy about it. Now I am very thankful for the move because it's what started my success.
In High School I became very popular and know for my sprinting. I was running 100s and 200s and it was easy to win the long jump.
Even after high school i was very successful. I set a new long jump record that lasted 25 years. I tied another track world record too! In college, I had a major tailbone injury but i was able to overcome and recover from it.
