Squek tried to get justice for Sophia when she was falsely imprisoned. However, the justice system failed her as the officer raped her for trying to free Sophia.

Alphonso, Celie & Nettie's father, told Celie that he killed her two children. When in reality, he just gave them to a preacher.

Celie loved Nettie very much. Nettie tried to live with Celie, but Mr.______ kicked her out and said she was dead. It was not until she found out it was a lie and rediscovered love.

Celie never wanted to marry Mr.______. He wanted to marry Nettie. He settled with Celie because he needed someone to raise his kids and take care of the house.

Nettie was Celie's sister. They were best friends and tried to protect each other. No matter how far away they were, they were always together in spirit.

Olivia was Celie's biological daughter whom she though Alphonso killed. However, Nettie married her adoptive father.

As Celie began to grow as a woman, she discovered there is more to the world than what she had been going through. There are happy things in the world such as, the color purple.
