All About My Religion!

I am a Muslim we practice Islam. Islam all started with the prophet Muhammad. He was the one to write our holy book. Our holy book is the Qur’an it leads us through life. We follow the Five pillars. They are five things you need to follow if you are a Muslim. The five pillars are confession of faith, prayer, almsgiving, fasting, and the pilgrimage to Mecca. Our art works are textiles, masks, and scorchers. The language that we speak is Arabic.

All about ME!

I am Mariam and I am only 14 years old. This is will be my very first journey that is far away. At lest from my home town. The only reason that I have not been on a journey that is far is because my parents think that I should be a certain age to go on one. Any way the place that I am from is Mail which is in west Africa and I can't wait for my first journey because we are going to Egypt. I am going with a group of people from my town like my family members and my neighbors. Most of the time we trade salt for gold with Ghana but this time we are going to trade with Egypt which is in north Africa.

To arrive at our destination we wanted to go the shortest way possible across the desert. That is because it would be the safest way to get to Egypt. We also have an idea on the path we will be going on. We will use the map that will show us the path that we will be taking. It will also show us where we will start and where we will end up which is Egypt. Did you know that Mansa Musa traveled through the Sahara desert to go to Mecca?
