"Time to get lined up, class," Ms. Bates said. "Grab your books and form an awesome 1st grade line for me."

Alex and Jade didn't want to go back to class, so they went to the back of the library and hid behind the shelves of books...

Totally surrounded by row after row of books, they couldn't resist all the awaiting tales and dove into their reading adventures.

Jade found Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat, home of one of her absolute favorite characters, Mr. Krinklebein, the pragmatic talking goldfish.

Alex choose Last Stop on Market Street by Matt de la Pena. He loved the illustrations and saw something new every time he read it. Book in hand, he and settle into a comfy bean bag to read.

Jade joined him and before they knew it, both had fallen to sleep. With books in hand, they were dreaming and having adventures with a little boy and his grandmother and a talking goldfish.

All the other books rested on their shelves. The library, filled with travel and adventure, was now as quiet as a mouse.
But not in Alex and Jade's sleeping world.
