Missy Taek
by Laura
On a murky night, a girl named Missy Taek, who looked like an ordinary student, was crying out loud and sitting down on the ground in the park when no one else was there.
After around 10 minutes, another girl came running to the park in a rush. She hugged Missy tightly and patted her on the back. With a concerned look on her face, she asked her what had happened.

Missy said her father had thrown plates, chopsticks, and containers in her direction while he was drinking, and then he had shouted at her, saying that trash was better than her and that she had to die. Every time he drank, he shouted and hit her with his hands and feet.
Missy wanted to commit suicide, but she could not do it because she loved her mother and did not want her to be hurt. She had a hard time at that time, and did not know what she could do when she cried.
The only thing her friend could do was to be with Missy and listen to her story.
At six, every morning Missy's father got up to work, but after the incident, her father always went into her room to say something. He naturally said, "Did I hit you again last night?" He didn't know simply saying that hurt her.
Missy always cried after he went out of her room. She felt pretty much totally and completely empty.
He wanted her to be perfect.
One day, he was not drunk, but he wanted to teach her something. The family was sitting around a table to talk, and he started lecturing Missy again. Then he went to the bathroom.
Missy didn't know the lecture time was over.
After he came back, he suddenly told her that she got a zero score and that she shouldn't be living that way.
Missy didn't know what she had made mistake.
There was only one reason that she could think of - she hadn't cleaned up the table immediately.
That was why he had gone to the bathroom - to check her behavior.
He started lecturing her again. What was the problem? Was her acting really at fault? Was she really guilty of something?
He made her self-esteem low. She even started smoking, drinking, and skipping school. She cared what people thought of her. She wanted to avoid her father, and she thought that she was not his doll. That he wanted her to be perfect made her rebel. She tried being all nice and obedient, but only in front of her parents. When she was with her friends, she could find her real persona.
She tried to erase the bad memories and believe herself. As a result, she had a seriously bad memory. Was this a good thing or bad thing for her?
She was not creative, but she loved drawing; it was like her soul. Sometimes when she drew, she could feel perfectly peaceful, but she was anxious about her future. Art didn't have any correct answer. There was only one reason why she thought that; it was because his thoughts had already been implanted in her mind. For that reason, she gave up her soul, and decided to major in accounting. That had to be the correct answer! Did the major make her happy? No.
College life was really one of the perfect moments in her life. There were good reasons. She even got a special scholarship.
Even though most of the student in her class had already majoring in accounting in high school, and she didn't know what accounting was, she became certified first in her class. The reason she got certified was because she studied ten hours a day for two months, so her effort had created one opportunity and that opportunity had created another, and so on. Eventually, she became part of the student government by chance even though she hadn't really wanted to run for chairman of the student
government.
At the school festival, she went to the bathroom in the middle of her work.
There were a lot of people in the bathroom, a school official, seniors, and other students. One student was drunk and stuck in the toilet. Everyone tried to talk to her, but she had drunk too much, so she couldn't talk to them.
Missy didn't understand their lack of action. She climbed the bathroom wall and tried to let the girl out of the stall.
However, the student didn't want to go out because she wanted to vomit too much. She even pooped behind Missy.
As a result, they both got a lot of vomit on their clothes!
Missy had to wipe the vomit from her clothes for thirty minutes.
After the incident, all of the student government and the school official suddenly wanted her as vice-chairman, so she ran for the election.
Actually, she was afraid of speaking in public and didn't like to talk to old people. She believed that she was scared of talking to old people like her parents, but she had to speak in public to 7000 students in order to run in the election. At some point, she enjoyed arranging for the election and then she started enjoying running and she could become the vice-chairman.
The student government had the best achievements for a year. Every year, there were generally about 3,000 guests attending their school festival over two days, but their festival attracted over 10,000 people.
In addition to the election and the festival, every year a small spring sport competition had been held at the school for ten years, but that year they wanted to hold a special and big event in which every student could participate. However, there were only sixteen members on the student government.
Actually, there were both small and big problems in preparing such an event, but they didn't give up the purpose and kept going ahead on it.
As a result, they managed to finish preparing for the large spring sport competition.
How wonderful Missy's college life was; she got best friends and a full scholarship until she graduated from college. Actually, she had gotten a full scholarship for her years in high school, too.
Ah, but how was Missy's relationship with her father at that time? Of course, he loved her and bragged about her tirelessly to people around him. So, at that time, their relationship was the best.
Is this the end of Missy's story? No. Unfortunately, it is not.
All the professors at college liked Missy and one of the professors wanted to introduce her to the biggest law firm in Korea. The professor was really influential and it was actually a very rare opportunity. There were only two interviewers including Missy, but she didn't get a job.
Missy admitted she hadn't done her best. Had she been full of conceit? No. However, as a result of Missy not getting the job, her father was totally disappointed with her. Still, she didn't give up looking for another job.
From that point on, she did her best to get a job. As a result, she got a good job at a company that was in the top ten in the country.
Every day she was happy. She had met really good friends, had a good relationship with her father, and had outstanding achievements. She was looking forward to being happy like that forever.
She was friendly and worked very hard, so every co-worker liked her - except one, her senior who bullied her and came across as a very promiscuous worker.
There was only one reason that she didn't like Missy - everyone else liked her.
Every day Missy's co-workers counted how many times Missy's senior bullied her - at least five times a day.
Eventually, Missy couldn't stand this situation any longer. She could never leave work on time. She always got off after two hours of overtime. Did she have to work until that time? No, never ever. She finished work before six o'clock, but she should have pretended to be working because her senior bitched at her in front of other people. Actually, she didn't make any mistake. She corrected the documents that her senior wanted and then her manager always told her that the documents were wrong. Her senior pretended that situation never happened and didn't help her. Actually, if she hadn't corrected the documents, Missy would not have had a bad time, but she did the work she was asked to do.
