Phlebotomy is the surgical opening or puncture of a vein in order to withdraw blood or introduce a fluid.

To become a Phlebotomist you must have your high school diploma. Or you cannot go onto study Phlebotomy.

You must get certified in CPR. And you must complete all your clinical requirements.

Pursue application and (if applicable) licensing. And then you are ready to look for a job.

You may think Phlebotomists only draw blood from patients but that's actually not the case. They do a lot of work.

They draw blood from patients and blood donors. But they also have to talk to patients and donors to help them feel less nervous about having their blood drawn.
