I Am
I am fearful society will always look at girls the wrong way
I wonder if the world will see eye to eye
I hear the voices scream and criticize me
I see the world from a different point of view
I want to show everyone that I am talented
I am hoping that the world will see everyones beauty
I pretend that I am okay
I feel loved when people say I am beautiful
I worry about failing or not being beautiful enough
I cry due to the fear that I am not perfect enough
I am frustrated that no one sees my talent
I understand that not being perfect is okay
I say things I don´t mean
I dream that I will be beautiful like everyone else
I try to help people understand they are beautiful
I hope people stop calling others ugly
I am beautiful no matter what anyone says.
Response : This poem is very emotional to me. Everyday, I point out my flaws and always think I am not good enough. Throughout my poem, I use repetition and imagery. With the word, ¨ Beautiful ¨, I use it multiple times throughout the poem. I also use imagery, to show the readers how frustrated I am about my flaws. The purpose of this poem, was to show that no matter if I have flaws, I am still perfect the way I am.

Winter
It happened when we were all asleep
A difference between night and day
December has risen
Fog hanging low
And frost crackling
The newly planted trees covered in snow
With a small porch light
Burning yellowing in the distance
My face bright with rouge
Trying to make a fire in my hands
The gray December was here to stay
Bio Poem Response:
Throughout my life I learned many things about myself. I have grown up not being the nicest person. Throughout the ups and down in my life, I have learned a lot about myself. From the things that I fear, to the things that I love. In my poem I use alliteration and imagery, to show all of my favorite things. In the phrase, ¨ Loving, lively, clumsy, caring ¨, tells the readers, who I am. I also use imagery in the phrase, ¨ Who would like to see the crystal blue waters of Hawaii, Ireland, and Switzerland ¨. I wrote this poem because I want people to see that I am a person too and that I deserve respect just like everyone else.
Recreation Poem Response
For this poem, I used words from Gary Soto´s poem,
¨ Oranges ¨. Growing up in California, we never get a winter, no snow or icicles on hanging tree branches. I had always imagined myself, making snow angels and getting to stay home from school. Throughout this poem, I used a lot of imagery and personification, to make my poem come alive .In my life, I definitely want to live somewhere where it is cold and snowy in December. I wrote this poem because winter is my favorite season and I can only imagine how beautiful the snow looks all over.
To My Grandfather
It was exactly at three in the afternoon
My grandfather took his last breath on earth
at three in the afternoon
A line of tears shed down many faces
at three in the afternoon
The wind carried his soul away
at three in the afternoon
In the shadows hidden beneath the trees
at three in the afternoon
A group stood in silence
at three in the afternoon
Hearts shattered like broken glass
at three in the afternoon
A high hearted man had perished in the wind
at three in the afternoon
With no goodbyes or a see you soon
at three in the afternoon
He passed away like morning dew
at three in the afternoon
The guilt riding on my back
at three in the afternoon
Knowing I never got to say goodbye
at three in the afternoon

To My Grandfather- Response:
My grandfather, James Victor Hugo died on September 3rd,2012. Ever since that day, I have never forgave myself . There is no setting for this poem, but I want people to understand how heart broken my whole family was over his death. His death still haunts me to this day, knowing I never got to say goodbye. With the phrase, ¨ the wind carried his soul away ¨, I used personification , to show how sudden his death was and how quick he was gone. I also used imagery in the phrase, ¨ A women had lost her love... Burned a cigarette to drown her sorrow¨, to capture how devastated my grandmother was. I also used a simile, ¨ He passed away like morning dew¨, to show that in a blink of an eye he was gone. The purpose of this poem was to show how much his death still haunts me knowing, I never got to say goodbye.
Definition Poem:
Daredevil
Daredevil: /derdevl/, noun, plural daredevils., a reckless person who enjoys doing dangerous things.
When I get out of bed
When I wear shoes instead of flip flops
Having strong stingy coffee instead of water
When I look over the rocky cliff and decide to walk back
Deciding to wear glossy pearl earrings over shinning, sparkly diamonds
When I make perfect pancakes instead of wacky waffles
When my mom tells me to clean my messy room, but I don´t
Looking at my assignment due tomorrow and not doing it
Seeing my friends food and slapping it out of their harmless hands.
Definition Poem Response:
I would never consider myself a daredevil, but here I am. Throughout my life, I have taken the easy way out of things and never truly challenged myself. In this poem, I used alliteration and imagery, to make my poem unique and show that it is okay to be yourself. Throughout my poem I used unique sayings, to make my poem dare-devilish! The phrase, ¨ Deciding to wear glossy pearl earrings, instead of shining sparkling diamonds ¨, gives the reader an image of wearing the glossy pearl earrings compared to the sparkling diamonds. Also in that phrase, I used alliteration to make describe the words finer. The purpose of this poem is to tell the audience, it is okay to be yourself, but sometimes go outside the box and be a daredevil!
Limerick Poem
The Drunk Lad:
There once was a lad who was drinking beer
Who almost hit a bubbly baby deer
He was humming along
To a good old fashioned song
When he realized he went over a pier
