Dedicated to all my Mountain Gorillas out there keeping the species alive. (especially you Gary)

Gary and his large family are endangered. They have a chance of going away for a very long time.
Being endangered means to be at risk of extinction or close to it.
The Congo Basin, where Gary and other Mountain Gorillas live, consists of many habitats for different animals.
Gary and his family live high up in the mountains in the forest with a lot of vegetation and cold climates
Gary the Mountain Gorilla and his family are known for thicker fur and more fur compared to other great apes.
Mountain Gorillas can grow from 4 to 5.5 feet when standing on their two feet. They can weigh up to 440 pounds and are large in size.
Gary prefers to eat plants and is a consumer. Gary's favorite foods are wild celery, thistle, and nettles. As a special treat, he likes to eat bamboo and bracket fungus. Gary travels and lives with his family of 40. His father, the Silver back, leads the group to the best feeding and resting spots . They solve conflicts with standoffs and scary behaviors that also scare intruders.
Gary and his family love living in the forested mountain biome. It is never too hot and never too cold. The temperatures range from 60 to 80 degrees. It gets about 37 inches of rain each year. When he walks around the forest, he sees wild celery, thistles and nettles. He likes to spend time with Charlie the chimpanzee and Marvin the golden monkey, who also live in the forest.
