I dedicate this book to my cat, Cuddly for being cute, lovable, and a great pet cat.

Here it comes. I took my first test and the teacher was passing them out. I was in the back and hoping my test had gotten lost. My teacher gave me the test and then frowned. I flipped over the test and saw a big A. I couldn't figure out why the teacher had frowned. I thought maybe he just didn’t like me. My answer came with a sigh from the other freshman behind me. I looked back and saw that he had gotten an F on his test. The teacher had frowned at him and not me. I still got the sense that the teacher didn’t like me and that raised one more question. Why did I feel he didn’t like me? That’s probably too far to start. Let me go back to the beginning of the day, from the start when I woke up.

I woke up feeling excited for the first day of college. I already had everything I thought I would need in a little bag that I bought for college and thought, “I should probably get going. I don’t want to be late. Not on the first day.” I looked at my phone and saw that I still had three hours before the first class started. I left my bag at the dorm and went down and took a shower. The shower was dirty and someone had wrote on the walls with a sharpie. I thought that someone had tried to clean it because it was hard to read and some parts were smeared and impossible to read. I took a quick shower to get out of there and avoid the grossness of the showers. They reminded me of bathrooms more than showers. I went down and got some breakfast and saw so many people. The food wasn’t great, but it wasn’t too bad. I ate it and said I would drive to get breakfast somewhere else.

I went to and got my bag because there was only two and a half hours until my first class. There weren't many people looking around and so I looked into the window of one of the rooms and saw that people were already taking classes. I thought that it was a strange sight to see people having classes this early. I continued looking around and found where my first class would be. I was happy to see that it was close to my dorm room. I went back to my dorm and found my roommate was doing homework. I asked her, “Did you already have a class this early?” She nodded yes without looking up from her homework. I went to my big duffel bag and backpack and dug out my laptop from my backpack. I sat on my bed and started to check my email. I saw I had one email from my youngest brother, Johnny, or, little Joe is what I called him. It said, “ Hey how's college? I am doing good and so is mom. We miss you!” As I thought, It didn't have a title.

Joe was only three years old and was just starting to read and write. He wants to go to school but my mom started to homeschool him because he was too little. I emailed back to him, “College is great. I’m doing good too. I miss you too!” I hit send and closed the laptop. I checked my phone and saw I had half an hour until my first class. I waited for nineteen minutes and checked my phone. I rushed down to my first class and when I came in and looked to the clock, I saw that I was one minute late.

“Good morning. It’s good to see you finally decided to show up.” My professor said, with a tone of annoyance. I went and sat down in an open seat. A couple of people were laughing at the fact that I was one minute late. I didn’t feel too bad because two more people came in a little bit later than me. Then, almost five minutes later, four people came in and everyone, but me, started laughing. “It looks like you are all going to have to be punished in some way. I think, you all have to write a letter to me saying that you are sorry for being late to my class.” My professor said, sounding really mean. “I guess you have all wasted enough time.” He said to the class, “Go do whatever you want to do until your next class. One student raised his hand. “Yes?” My professor said. “We’ve only been here for about ten minutes.” He said, looking at the clock over the professor. “I don’t care, just go.” He said, ushering towards the door. I was the last one out and was thinking that all of his students must either like him or hate him. My next class wasn’t until five minutes so I hurried so I wasn’t late.

When I got there the only other student from my first class was the student that had said that we shouldn't have been allowed to leave. I went in and took a seat in the back row, to avoid the next professor to call on me for questions or anything. When the class started, only one student was late. The professor didn’t say anything and said that we should call her Mrs. A. Everyone said, “Hi Mrs. A.” Mrs. A seemed really nice and I thought that I might enjoy her class. I would enjoy her class a lot more than I would enjoy my first class. He didn’t even tell us his name. I thought that, Since I was going to be in college until I got a bachelors degree, I would major in her class. I wasn’t going to take the other professor’s class next year though. I actually had a great time in Mrs. A’s class and we hadn’t really done a whole lot of work today. I went out after class had ended and looked at my schedule. I saw that I didn’t have any more classes to go to today so I went back to my dorm room and saw that I had spent more than three hours in Mrs. A’s class.

I put my bag down and got ready to explore the rest of the college campus.
