Patrick the Platypus was a quiet little platypus, who wanted to make friends.

Today, he traveled out to find new friends.

Out I go, to find my new friends!

During his walk in the woods, Patrick found Larry the Lion. But Larry the Lion did not want to be friends with him.

Hello!

"Hello, there," said Patrick. "I'm a platypus, what are you?"

"I'm sorry, you're a penguin?" Larry scoffed. "I don't have time for penguins, goodbye."

Patrick was sad. Why did Larry think he was weird? Patrick walked more to find another animal to be his friend.

While walking through the forest, Patrick saw a small snail trudging across the ground. Maybe, this snail could be his friend!

"Hi, I'm Sam the Snail." the tiny snail said, "What's your name?"

"My name is Patrick," the sad platypus replied.

"Can we be friends? You look very nice!" the snail happily asked.

"Oh?" questioned Patrick, "You want to be my friend? Of course!"

Patrick was happier now with Sam as his friend.

The two creatures became friends and began to walk to find more friends.

After walking around for a while, the two of them met Terry the Tiger.

"Hello there, Mr. Tiger," said Sam.

"Hello, Mr. Snail, who is this beaver duck?" asked the tiger, with a disgusted look toward Patrick.

Patrick got sad again, he knew that Terry would not want to be friends with him because he was somehow weird to Terry. But, Sam could not let Terry be mean to his cool new friend.

"Hey, Terry!" Sam shouted, "Patrick is actually a really cool platypus and does not deserve your mean words!"

"No one has ever done that for me," Patrick said with a smile towards Sam.

"If Sam says you're a cool platypus, I am going to believe you! I am really sorry for misjudging you," Terry apologized, "Would you like to be friends?"

"I forgive you! Also, yes, we can be friends!" Patrick was happy once more because of his new tiger friend.
