We learned that...
Recycling means using things that have already been used to make new things.
It is important to try reduce or reuse yourself before recycling.



When we throw out our rubbish it is then collected by bin lorries and brought to recycling centers.
Two of the nearest recycling centers to our school are in Granny, near Mooncoin and in Dunmore, Co.Kilkenny.



Why do we recycle?
Every day we throw away things that are empty, broken, used or unwanted. Recycling transforms these old things into brand new useful things.
Recycling uses a lot less money, energy, and saves a lot of the Earth’s natural resources.

What can we recycle????
The picture on the left shows some of the items we investigated to see if they can be recycled or not: plastic bottles, hair ties, cloths, cardboard, etc.
