This book goes to Mrs. Terry who taught us that you have to work with everyone even if you don't like them, you're grade is important.

Peppa Pig and her little brother George enjoy jumping in muddy puddles, but they don't know that evil creatures called bacteria also like to be in there.

Three days later Peppa got sick, the evil bacteria got inside of her body and caused her to feel icky. Little does she know, her immune system is working hard to fight off an infection from the nasty bacteria.

The first thing that tried to protect her was her skin but it got inflamed because she had a cut. As more bacteria entered her body, mucus started to come out of her nose, but oh no! Those nonspecific defenses didn't work too well.
Don't worry, next up are the B-cells! They will tell the T-cells to get ready to fight the evil bacteria by using antigens! All of them are called specific defenses.

Phagocytes and antigens work behind the scenes to help Peppa fight off the bacteria, but shhhh..... Don't tell them! Something really cool is that antigens are like puzzle pieces because they're one of a kind and only work in certain places!
