This Book is dedicated to the brave men and women who were determined to make America a United and Equal Nation... Not "Separate But Equal"

The Year was 1951 when a little black girl, Named Linda Brown was walking to school. She would have to walk and walk and walk for way to long until she finally arrived at her school.
Once she arrived at her all black school, something seemed different. The rooms were dirty, the books were old and desks looked they were ready to break.

When Linda got home, she complained to her dad about her Two Mile walk to school and how beat up her materials were.

This made her dad very angry...
... He was determined to make a change for his daughter and all black kids in America.

This is enough! My girl has been walking two miles to school everyday, when there is a perfectly fine white school just around the corner from our house! I want her to be enrolled !
He walked to town and said to the officials...

The Brown's were denied of there request and sent back home...
...That's when the Browns had had enough of being denied their rights, and they got a lawyer and took this case to court!

The Browns took this case to their district court, but yet again lost and Linda was forced to attend her all black school
This did not stop the Brown's though, instead, it made them even more determined to fight for equality. They appealed the courts ruling and sought attention from the Supreme Court.
