There was a time when a family left their home to go to a richer place to live. This place was Amritsar, the city of the Golden Temple. Here people had a lot of money and a lot of housekeepers. One of them was a woman called Harprit Kaur. She was a widow mother and she had to take care of her two children.
One day her daughter had to go to the mother's workplace 'cause she needed help to nurse her sick brother. But when the girl arrived in front of the house she didn't know what to do. Obviously she couldn't go in someone else's house and if she did her mother would be fired.
But luckily, in that instant, a young girl came out of the doors. The young girl, surprised at seeing a stranger, asked her warily who she was. Arashdeep explained everything. She told her how her brother had got sick, how she had to run to get there and who her mother was. Anita, the young girl, chose to believe Arashdeep’s words and decided to help her secretly see her mother because nobody, other than family, near family friends or the housekeepers could go inside the big mansion.
To help her Anita told Arashdeep to pass through the kitchen, the only place accessible to everyone. Arashdeep, dressed like a housekeeper, walked across the big room to go to her mother. Once out of the kitchen she headed towards the library, where she was supposed to meet Anita, but on the way there she encountered someone else:
Rahul Sharma.
Even if the Sharma family had moved there a short time before, the boy was famous all over the country. He was the typical rich, stubborn and cocky boy who thought he was the best because of his good looks and his wealth. Every girl would have liked to meet him in their lives, well everyone other than Arashdeep obviously.
When he saw her he demanded that she cleaned the house and did her work properly so Arashdeep answered him calmly but with authority that respect was due to everyone. When she was done with Rahul she continued walking and went where she had to meet Anita. In the library Anita gave her other clothes in which she looked more like a rich person.
Then they went to Arashdeep’s mother. When the woman saw her daughter there, she was very shocked, but after a moment of panic because of the fear she might get caught in the mansion, she listened to what Arashdeep had to say. The woman told her daughter what she had to do with her brother and after thanking her new friend, Arashdeep left the room they were in and she started going towards the doors to go home.
Before going out of the mansion she decided to go and see the kitchen again because she had always liked cooking and she had never seen a kitchen as big as that one. But looking at it she saw all the food that had been wasted by the family. She ran out of it angrily trying to think only of her brother.
The next day her brother was feeling better and Arashdeep, with the excuse of returning Anita’s clothes, decided to go back to the mansion. When she went in she found Rahul who was annoyed with her and asked her explanations about the previous day, so she started to tell him how badly he was speaking to her that day and about the amount of wasted food in their house.
Anita came after some time to see what was going on and when she saw the two she stopped their arguing and took her new friend Arashdeep to her room to calm her down.
