Splash! Wallie searches for food in and out of the water.
Wallie is a whale shark from Placencia, Belize who is traveling the world's oceans in search of food.
First, Wallie goes to the Atlantic Ocean.
Here, she meets a leatherback turtle named Carlos.
Wallie asks Carlos for food. Wallie eats krill, and Carlos eats seaweed.
Carlos says, "There's not much krill here."
Wallie responds, "Why not?"
Carlos says, "Because people are polluting
the water, and the water is so hot that there's
not much krill."
So, Wallie swims away to the Arctic Ocean.
She keeps swimming and arrives in the Arctic, where she spots a polar bear yelling for help!
Wallie meets a new friend, a polar bear named Azeil.
Azeil says "The ice is melting because the water is getting warmer. So you might want to go because the icebergs are melting and breaking."
Wallie takes Aziel's advice and swims to the Indian Ocean.
Wallie meets Marta the Manta Ray in the Indian Ocean.
"Hi, I'm Wallie! Can you help me find some food?" says Wallie.
"I'm Marta the Manta Ray. I know one place where we can get some food! I am also starving around here. Please follow me, I will take you to the Great Barrier Reef!" replies Marta.
Wallie says, "That's WAVY!"
Both of the filter feeders, Wallie and Marta, swim up to the Great Barrier Reef.
Wallie and Marta meet Jeffy the Rainbow Parrotfish at the Great Barrier Reef.
"The Reef looks so beautiful!"
says Wallie.
Marta says to Jeffy "Hi! Do you know where we can find food?"
Jeffy replies, "Follow me to the corals!"
Jeffy shows them fire coral, elkhorn coral, staghorn coral, and brain coral! He shows them how he eats coral with his beak.
"Thank you" says Wallie,
"but this is not the food for us."
Together, Marta and Wallie continue off into the open Pacific Ocean.
Out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, Wallie and Marta spot a dolphin!
