What I've learned!

In Spanish II the first thing I did was review what I learned in Spanish 1, then I started to get into Spanish 11. In it, I've learned vocabulary like cleaning, sports, school, shopping/clothing, food (American and Mexican foods), cooking, how to stay healthy, bank/money, and much more. I've also learned the difference between present, preterite, and imperfect verbs, and how to conjugate them. I've learned how to generate conversations and responses to questions, statements, and commands.

I've also learned how to talk about my morning routine, my classes and teachers, extracurricular activities, my apartment, the chores I do and the supplies I need, nationalities and languages, relationships, my childhood (using imperfect tense), casual greetings/ farewells, pets and animals, cultural musics, jobs, fruits and vegetables, cultural foods, healthy habits, clothing sizes and fabrics, shopping, weather conditions, traditional crafts, and artisan projects.

Durante este curso visité España. Me divertí mucho y aprendi mucho. Voy a contar sobre mi experiencia.

En España fui a la escuela de las nueve de la mañana a las nueve de la noche. En la escuela tengo que ponerme lo que quiera. En la hora del almuerzo era a las dos de la tarde. Me gustaba estar con niños de España. Mi amigo favorito de la escuela era Precilla. Ella eres buena en matemáticas y ella me ayudó. Ella quería son doctora.

También tuve un apartamento en España, era muy espacioso. Viví allí con mi hermana de mi familia en España. Su nombre era Chaquita. Compartimos era habitación, era amarillo. Teníamos una cocina que siempre cocinamos. El apartamento estaba en Barcelona, la vista era hermosa.

Mi familia en España vivía a una milla de mí. El nombre de mi madre era Beth, ella are muy dulce. Ella me ayudó con mi Español. El nombre de mi padre era Pablo. No hablamos tan a menudo. Tuve una hermana, Chaquita, y vivimos juntos. Ella era como gemela Española. Ella me presento a sus amigos. Estábamos muy cerca.

Mientras salgo con Chaquita y sus amigos, me enseñaron a jugar al balonmano. Me gusto el juego. Tiene mi corazón en marcha. Es uno de mis nuevos pasatiempos favoritos. Cuando volví a América les ensene a mis amigos. Otro de mis pasatiempos en España el ajedrez. Lo tienen an América, pero nunca lo intené hasta que fui a España.

Aprendí que la comida en España es major que la comida en América. Mi familia en España cocinó muy buena comida. Mi plato favorito fue la paella. Es arozz, pollo, pimientos. tomates, salchichas, y más. Es muy bueno. También fui al mercado y tenia muy buena comida fresca.

Mientras estaba en España, fui de compras. Solo tenía que ir a una tienda para encontrar lo que necesitaba. Fue loco. Tenía que comprar jabón para lavar los platos y zapatos para usar. Una tienda tenía ambas cosas.

Me encantó mi tiempo en España. Mi familia era genial, y también lo era país. Quiero visitar de nuevo algún día.

Mi vida en España es diferente de mi vida en América. En España fui a la escuela todos los días, lo mismo que en América. En España durante la hora del almuerzo fui a casa a comer, pero en América como el almuerzo en la escuela. Algunas de mis cosas favoritas para hacer son jugar baloncesto y nadar en el lago. En España donde yo vivía no había un lago donde nadar. Así que mientras estaba en España aprendi a jugar al ajedrez. Es mi nuevo pasatiempo favorito.

En España tenía mi propio apartamento para vivir. Mi familia en España vivía a mi lado. En América viví en la misma casa que mi familia. En mi familia Española tuve dos hermanas. En mi familia Americana tengo dos hermanos. Pero cada familia me hace sentir bien.

En España comí mucha comida. Personalmente me gustó la

comida de España más que la comida de América. Mi comida favorita de España fue arroz con pollo. Pensé que la mayoría de la comida en España era pollo, arroz, o pimientos, mientras en América todo está frito. Ir de compras en España es mucho mejor que en los Estados Unidos. En las tiendas en España tienen todo, pero en América ciertas tiendas tienen ciertas cosas. En el mercado en España que compré un pañuelo que fue personalizado.

The differences I've learned about the Spanish and English languages.

Throughout Spanish 1 and 11 I've learned that Spanish nouns have genders, unlike English nouns. In Spanish if you were trying to say the BOY is quiet you would say "tranquilo" and if you wanted to say the GIRL is quiet you would say "tranquila". I've also learned that the adjective comes after the noun so instead of saying the purple cat you would say "el gato mercado" which technically translates to the cat purple in English.

I learned most of that from Spanish 1, but in Spanish 11 I've found that Spanish has more structure and follows its own rules more than English. In Spanish there are only a few irregulars that need to be learned and memorized. While in English we don't really stick to the rules we have created. Also in Spanish there are basically 2 past tenses, preterite and imperfect, while in English we just say we ate chicken yesterday, or we ate chicken a year ago. The same word is used. Where in Spanish you have to conjugate the verb.

Some things i found interesting about the Spanish culture was the "siesta". Which is where in Spain around lunch time everything closes down and everyone goes home and has like a "nap time" to take a break and rest. I also thought the fact that so many great artist originate from Spain is awesome. I'm not the best artist, but I do appreciate good art. I also think Spain is like a party country, and I love it. The celebrate so many different things, it's great! I remember one of the festivals they have is the tomato festival and they throw tomatoes at one another, it's like they're always partying.

If I continued to study the Spanish language I would hope to learn how to be able to fluently speak the whole language, like know everything that is possible to know about the Spanish language. I would also consider visiting Spain one day and I would like to learn as much about the culture of the country, so that it would help me better understand the people who live there.
