Stephen William Hawking was born on 8 January 1942 in Oxford to Frank (1905–1986) and Isobel Eileen Hawking.

He studied at two differente schools, because he had some troubles with learning how to read at the first one.

When he was 16 years old, with the help of the mathematics teacher Dikran Tahta, they built a computer from clock parts.
