Chapter 1
Bullying
What is bullying? Bullying is when someone uses an imbalance of power to verbally or physically abuse someone (also using rumors and threats). For it to be bullying, the abuse has to take place multiple times or be repetitive.

People bully for many different reasons. The main reason kids bully is there home life. If at home, they don't receive enough care, love, or even discipline from their parents or guardians, they are more prone to be the bully. It could be because they don't get enough attention at home. Or, it could be because they don't have anybody to share emotions with, and they bully to feel better. Overall, we don't really know a true reason people bully, but we can recognize key factors in life that could influence bullying.
Bullying can also have many consequences for the victim. The victim can experience depression and loneliness, which can lead to them missing school and falling behind. The bullying can also cause the victim to commit suicide, or worse, shoot up the school. In 1990, 12 of the 15 school shootings were done because of the shooters being bullied (StopBullying.gov).
YOU can help in a bullying situation, by just telling an adult. Telling an adult, can get the student help or the bully in trouble. In both situations, the student benefits. What you shouldn't do, is intervene, while the students are fighting, which could lead to you getting in trouble. Just tell an adult.
Chapter 2
Cyber Bullying
Bullying and cyber-bullying have most things in common. The only difference is that cyber-bullying takes place online.
The victim still gets ostracized, the bully still says hurtful things, it just happens online.

If you are being cyber-bullied, you can do many things to stop it. One thing you can do is block accounts or numbers. This will then make sure you get no texts from that account or number, ever again. If the bullying persists still, you can do the same thing that you could do if you were getting bullied at school. You can tell an adult and show them proof, that the student is bullying you.
Chapter 3

Chapter 4
Dating Violence
What is dating violence? Dating violence is when at one person in a relationship is abusing the other verbally or physically. The violence can cause the other to be depressed, have anxiety, and have future relationship fears. The cycle of violence, is a cycle used to show violence in relationships. First is Building Tension. Next is Acute Expulsion. Finally, there is Honeymoon (resolution).
There is also other three other kinds of violence, within the dating violence. Verbal, Sexual, and Physical. Verbal usually involves name calling or rude comments. Cycle of Violence

Chapter 5
Sexting
Sexting is when someone shares nude pictures with another person, for whatever reason, but sexting is actually very dangerous, if you are underage. For example, if you send nude pictures to a boy/girl friend and you are underage, you can get in serious trouble. If those pictures then get distributed, and someone gets caught with it, you could get charged with child pornography.
With sexting, there are many consequences at home/school. If the pictures effect school work, you can get suspended or expelled. Those are small compared to the legal reasons. If the person is underage, and you share the pictures, you can get charged with distribution of child pornography, and if you are old enough, you could go to jail, tried as an adult.

Chapter 6
Sexual Harassment
Sexual Harassment is the harassment of someone with unwanted sexual advances or remarks. In the workplace, there is two different kinds of sexual harassment. Quid Pro Quo Harassment and Hostile Environment Sexual Harassment. Quid Pro, involves someone of higher power, trying to receive sexual favors, in exchange for something that benefits them. Hostile Environment, involves verbal sexual harassment.
This can involve sexist remarks, sexual or dirty speech, and many other things.
If you are being sexually harassed, there a certain way to respond. The most important thing is to be safe. Once you are safe, confront the harasser.
