Grace woke up early.

It was her first day!

Her mom dragged her out of bed.

Home is where she wanted to stay.

Yet, she marched into school.

Grace saw all the desks,

and she got stressed.



This was nothing like preschool!

She thought, "Kindergarten may not be that cool."

Everyone sat down and Grace realized she was so tired.

She was not in the least bit inspired.

She struggled real hard to stay awake

as her teacher explained what was at stake.

Before long her grade had dropped.

She needed an A to reach the top.

Her parents told her from now on,

"You must do your very best."

This was the greatest test.

Grace practiced her letters and math at home.

Before long, she was learning all new things.
