The book is made of letters written by a little boy who is 10 years old. He adresses them to God and he got this idea from the Lady in Pink, who visits him in hospital. The letters describe twelve days of his life and are filled with funny characters. These twelve days are his last, but thanks to the Lady who bonds with Oscar,he becomes happier because she gave him the idea to imegine that every day he "ages" ten years. He has several friends in this book, one of them being his best friend Pop Corn. He fells in love with Peggy Blue, another patient who is entirely blue because of her disease. In the end Oscar dies at 130 years and the last letter in the book is written by the Lady in Pink.

Yes, Oscar. It's me. I am here to help you.

How did you do that? Now I really am sure that I am dead.

Oh, Oscar... You're not dead. I'm just here to ask you a favor. I would like you to forgive your parents, they just wanted your best. Can you do that for me?

Ok, I will try. Is that all you wanted to say?

Actually, no. I know you have been writing letters to me and don't think I haven't read them. I want to thank you for your belief and tomorrow you will have a surprise.
