An athlete is a person who is involved in Athletics or Sports.



is for Blitz
Blitz is a defensive maneuver in which one or more linebackers or defensive backs, who normally stay behind the line of scrimmage, charge into the opponent's backfield.


is for Center

Center is a player of offense. The center usually snaps the ball then blocks.

is for Delay of Game

A foul which occurs when the offensive team does not put the ball in play before the play clock runs out.

is for End Zone

The area between the end line and the goal line, bounded by the sidelines.

is for Field Goal

The offense can score 3 points by kicking the ball through the opponent's uprights.

is for Guard

One of the two players on the offensive line. They along with the center block the defending players.

An on-field meeting of players of the same team in order to communicate and find out the next play.

The legal catch of a forward pass thrown by an opposing player.

A free kick which starts the each half of the game. It also restarts a game after a field goal or touchdown.

Mid-Field is the exact middle of the football field which is the 50 yard line.

is for Onside Kick

A type of kick off in which the kicking team tries to recover the ball after they kick it.

is for Play Clock

A timer used to increase the pace of the game between plays. THe offensive team must snap the ball before time expires or be penalized. Currently, the NFL play clock is 40 seconds long.
