Marvin is from Halloween Town, and is just like all the other ghosts, other than the fact that he doesn't like to be scary. Marvin prefers to be nice and friendly to others.

All the ghosts in Marvin's class would make fun of him for being so different. They said that he didn't deserve to be a ghost because he was fake.

The other ghosts would follow Marvin around on the playground and tease him, call him names. Marvin was was hurt by the others being rude to him, so he would try to hide from the others.

Marvin went home one day, and told his mom about the mean ghosts from school. She asked why anyone would make fun of such a sweet little ghost.

Marvin explained to his mom that the other ghosts were picking on him because he was different from all the other ghosts.

Marvin's mom explained that he should never be ashamed for being different. That the other ghosts made fun of him because they didn't understand him.
