Once upon a time there was a cruel, evil, and unfair king. His name was King George III. He was the ruler of Great Britain and he ruled the colonies across the Atlantic Ocean. He treated the colonies very unfairly and he passed many unfair acts. These acts made the colonist fight back.

A big battle that occurred during the Revolutionary War was the Battle Of Bunker Hill. It happened on June 1775 near Boston. Americans occupied Bunker Hill and the British attacked them. The British attacked and failed but they kept attacking. Eventually the British succeeded but only because the colonists ran out of ammo.

The Battle Of Trenton came next. It occurred on December 25th-26th, 1776. Washington led 2400 men across the Deleware River. This was so that they could surround the British in Trenton for a surprise attack. The Americans attacked and they captured almost 1,000 soldiers. No continental soldiers were killed in this battle. The continental army won this battle and it gave the Americans hope.

The Battle Of Yorktown was the final battle of the American Revolution. The colonies trapped a British force of 8,000 inside of Yorktown. The battle went from September 29th - October 19th, 1781. Cornwallis and his men had to surrender and this battle led to the treaty of Paris, 1783.
