Hello Mrs.Garnidge! I need some help with the carbon cycle....
Ok well take some notes!
The carbon cycle is the process in which carbon travels from the atmosphere into organisms and the earth and then back into the atmosphere.

Plants take carbon dioxide from the air and use it to make food. Then animals eat the food and then carbon is stored in their bodies, or gets released as carbon dioxide through respiration.

Carbon is an element found in many different forms and locations within our earth and atmosphere .
Where is carbon located?

Why is carbon so important?
We wouldn't be able to exist without it because plants take in carbon dioxide to produce oxygen for us.

Carbon dioxide also traps heat in the atmosphere. Without it and other greenhouse gases, earth would be a frozen world.

Humans have impacted this in a negative way by burning so much fuel. Now there's around 30% more carbon dioxide in the air today than there was ever. It is not a good thing since it's making the earth hotter.
