In the beginning, God had created Adam and Eve a garden to live in and had filled it with life. But Adam and Eve were deceived into eating a fruit the Lord had told them not to eat. After doing this, the Lord had sent them out of the garden. But despite this, the Lord was still with them and helped them through hard times and remained faithful.
Years later, Abraham was called from God to move to a new land away from his family and everything he knew. Upon leaving, the Lord had assisted him throughout his life and promised him his descendants would be a numerous as the stars. During his lifetime and even after, his descendants would continue to grow numerous as God had promised.
One of Abraham's many descendants, Moses was put into power over the nation of Israel in Eygpt. During the time, the Isrealites had been sent into slavery. Upon seeing this, he stood up to this madness, but after he failed, he had to flee. Years after fleeing, Moses was called to deliver the people of Israel. Moses was then assisted by God to work miracles to free the people. Then, God still kept to his promise by helping Moses free the slaves.
After God's people were released from exile, God made another promise similar to Abrahams but instead made it to Moses and he promised never to destroy Israel and wanted the Isrealites to keep his commands. Throughout Moses' lifetime, until he died and even after, God still kept his promise and remained faithful.
To make sure the Isrealites would keep their side of the promise God put more laws in place. After the people worshiped other gods, God punished the Isrealites. Even then God was faithful in this, because this followed Moses' promise to make sure the people kept their side of the promise.
In the time of the judges, there were many crooked people. God made sure to never fully destroy the people so he just punished them again. Even in this act of God did, God remains faithful to his promise with Abraham and Moses.
