December 22nd
three days before christmas day
it was a cold, winter night.
there, in a little cottage, lived a girl named tessa.
like other children, she was waiting for the coming of christmas.

no! i rule!
i'm the queen! i rule the land!

later that night, she went up to her bedroom.
since school had ended early, she was having a girls' night out with her closest friends.
they watched movies, played board games, and dressed up as princesses.

as tessa and her friends continued to play, a loud cry was heard in the kitchen.
tessa' s mom was cooking dinner when the terrible news arrived.
she was worried of how tessa would react to it.

Oh my word! How will Tessa adjust to this?
tessa's mom walked upstairs to tessa's bedroom to deliver the news she just heard.
"tessa, sweetheart...i have something to tell you," tessa's mom gulped.
"hi mom! what's wrong?" tessa asked.
"it's your grandmother. she...she died," tessa's mom replied in tears.

Hi Mom! What's wrong?

Tessa, sweetheart,...I have something to tell you.

tessa was shocked when her mother explained what had happened.
she had entered a deep and dark part of herself she long feared:
despair.
she couldn't dare imagine a life without her grandmother.

come on, tessa, dear. we need to go back to the shop.

in the past, her and her grandmother used to own a bakery shop.
they would buy groceries to bake many of their beloved treats.

they were adored by so many people.
they would receive customers every day.
she missed these happy memories with her grandmother.
now that she's gone, it will never be the same without her.

thank you!
January 7th
first week back from winter break
she started school on a rough start.
she still was depressed over the loss of her grandmother.
during class, she angered at the ceiling for no reason and was sent to the principal's office.

D

miss tessa! i may have to ask you to leave the room.
why?? why did it have to be her?

~

hello. please take a seat, m'am.

"m'am, i'm really sorry to bother you today, but your daughter has caused trouble this morning, " the principal said.
"that's ok. i'm sure she didn't do it on purpose," tessa's mom explained.
"i'll make this an exception, but there won't be any more chances next time," the principal said.

lord, why did she have to die? why now?

tessa's long and difficult day finally came to an end.
she walked upstairs to her bedroom to work on her homework.
suddenly, she stopped and asked, "lord, why did my grandmother have to die?"
"why did you have to punish her? why couldn't it be me?" she begged.

May 13th
two months later
weeks turned into months.
tessa seemed to become unusual. she was more gloomy than before.
she was seen in gray-colored clothing.

not if you catch me, i can't!
can you carry my shopping bags for me?

she separated herself away from the crowd.
she thought the best way to handle her anxiousness was alone.
she didn't think anyone cared about her problems.
