Did you know that hatshepsut was the first female pharaoh? Or that she wanted to be respected so she dressed up like a man? well now you know, and this book will teach you a lot more about the pharaoh hatshepsut.
Where is hatshepsuts tomb?
Hatsheput is now resting in the valley of kings in the hills behind Deir el-Bahri. She had her dad buried beside her. Hatshepsut died around 1458 B.C., when she would have been 50. Scholars of ancient Egypt didn`t know about Hatshepsut until 1822, when they were able to decode and read the hieroglyphics on the walls of Deir el-Bahri. Her mummy was not in her prepared tomb, and many of the signs of her existence had been erased or written over, so cause of death was a matter of speculation.
She died shortly after Thutmose III returned from a military campaign as head of the armies. Because apparently Hatshepsut`s mummy had been lost or destroyed, and Thutmose III had tried to erase her reign. He has been known to be mad at Hatshepsut for taking his rule away from him at a very young age . I think that this shows that she wanted to make sure that people remembered her and respect her as a pharaoh. Also that Thutmose III killed his step-mom
I think that this shows that she wanted to make sure that people remembered her.
How Would You Summarize Hatshepsuts Life?
She was a daughter of king Thutmose I when she was 12 she married her half brother and she became queen. They had a daughter named Neferure when Thutmose II died her step-son Thutmose III was supposed to take the throne.
but he was underage so Hatshepsut had to rule when she crowned herself as full king, and expanded the trade routes, built new temples as well as rebuilding old ones, and when she died Thutmose III took the throne and attacked Hatshepsut's statue in memory because he felt that she stole the throne from him.
I think that this peace shares how Hatshepsut ran her life and that it was a good one too.
What Do You Think Would've Happened If Hatshepsut Didn't Become Pharaoh?
Hatsheput became pharaoh when her husband died, and his son was too young to be a pharaoh. When she reigned she sent out a trade expedition to punt, built a temple for herself, and rebuilt old temples, so if she didn't become Pharaoh, Egypt wouldn’t have been so advanced in trading, and have more temples.
I think that it showed that she accomplished a lot, as well as what would’ve happened if she didn't. It also dips into the world of what if. So, what if we didn´t do this. Would that affect our grade? If Hatshepsut wasn´t pharaoh, would we not have cell phones today?
How Did Hatshepsut Dress, And Why Was That Important?
She wore the pharaoh's headdress with a cobra. She wore a fake beard and a short kilt like the men wore. This is important because, In order for people to accept her as pharaoh, Hatshepsut had to dress like she was a male pharaoh.
