For Londyn and Jordyn Smith

Once, long ago lived a mouse named Max. Max was the youngest in his family. He lived with his older sister, Marie, his father Mark, and his mother Susan. His family loved him very much, even though he was different.

On the other side of the forest lived a fox named Rick. Rick was taken in by a wolf named Carol at a young age. Even though Rick was no wolf, she took very good care of him like he was her very own.

One day while alone in the filed, Max decided it was time for him to view the world on his own. He heard about this place, just a few ways out of the forest, that is the most beautiful place there is. That when the sun goes down, the whole sky lights up.

Meanwhile on the other side of the forest, Carol called Rick over to tell him something important.
"Rick, you have reached the age where it is time for you to venture out on your own." said Carol.
" But where will I venture to mother?" replied Rick.
"There is a place outside of the forest, where the night sky is lit up by a thousand stars." she answered.

Max told his family about his idea and they wish him the best of luck and told him to come home safe. Rick said his farewell to his mother and told her that he will not disappoint her. So they each set off, hoping to achieve what they set out to seek. They both knew it was going to be a very long journey. With their heads held up high they were on there way to a beautiful new place.

With a pep in his step, Max was well on his way to the most wonderful place he had ever heard of. Then while he was walking he heard a noise off behind the trees.
"W-who's there?" asked Max. No response. He slowly kept walking keeping his ears open. Then once again he heard it.
"Show yourself! I know you're there." yelled Max. Then out from behind the trees popped Rick.

"Who are you?" asked Max with nervousness in his voice.
"My name is Rick." he replied with a calm tone. "Whats your name?"
"Max. My name is Max." he answered back. "What are you doing in the middle of the woods Rick?" asked Max.
"Well I am going to this place where the stars light up the night sky. My mother told me about it. Its a amazing and wonderful place." Rick answered with so much joy and happiness in his voice.

"REALLY! Me too! We can go there together." replied Max with so much joy in his voice.
"That sounds really fun." said Rick. So off they set on their adventure together. On the way they had many fun stories and jokes to share with each other. Some would even say they were the best of friends by the way they were getting along. But the funniest thing was that a big fox and a little mouse was walking side by side. The mouse showing no fear of the fox and the fox showing no hunger towards the mouse.
