Geography Effects

There were many geography changes that were made because of World War 1. Let's take a look at some of the geography effects.

1. Many European Country's Borders Changed

• After World War 1, The German Empire became known as Germany
• The Austro-Hungarian Empire dissolved into Austria, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, and Yugoslavia. 

2. New Countries Were Created

• The collapse of the Russian Empire created Poland, the Baltics, and Finland
• When the Ottoman Empire collapsed, Turkey was established

3. Many Europeans Countries were Destroyed and need to be Rebuilt

• The Ottoman Empire, Austria-Hungary, German, and Russia were all European countries that collapsed during World War 1.
